  • Kendal Mountaineering Club (KMC) is in an active and friendly Kendal based club. We hold regular meets throughout the year locally and beyond.
  • Although our name might suggest otherwise, our organised meets are mostly rock climbing meets. However, members participate in many other outdoor activities such as walking, ice climbing, skiing, mountain biking, bouldering, fell running, basically anything outdoors & in the hills.
  • The club is affiliated to The British Mountaineering Council. You can see the advantages of this here.
  • We meet, socially, on the first Thursday of every month at the Castle Inn, Castle Street, Kendal from about 9.30 onwards; you can get a map here
  • In the summer, we have a series of evening meets on Tuesday nights at crags in the Lakes, North Lancashire and North Yorkshire. Information is available on the web calendar. Venues may change subject to the weather.
  • In the winter, club members tend to be at Kendal Wall on Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings
  • Weekend meets tend to be arranged on an ad hoc basis depending on what the weather looks like.
  • The club mailing list keeps members informed of what's going on, and is useful for finding partners.
  • In you want to know more drop us a line on information [at] kendalmc.org or just come on down to the pub on the first Thursday of the month.
